Buyers out in force at Sutton Kersh auction

Sutton Kersh sold 72 (71%) of the 102 properties offered at is recent auction, generating proceeds of over £4,500,000.

It was a case of standing room only at the sale at the Liverpool City Centre Marriott as buyers turned up in large numbers, attracted by a wide choice of sensibly priced stock.

The very first lot of the day reflected the positive mood among investors.

7/7a Swiss Road, a vacant double fronted detached property divided into two semi-detached houses close to Kensington Shopping Centre, which was offered at a guide of £70,000 plus, sold for £102,000.

Meanwhile, the former Citizen’s Advice Bureau on Church Street in Prescot sold for £132,500 off a guide of £80,000 plus, following a competitive bidding war.

Elsewhere, a six bedroom, 3 storey end of terrace property on Kempton Road in L15 which was guided at £65,000, sold for £95,500.

Other highlights included a vacant 2/3 bedroom duplex apartment within a Grade II listed building in Liverpool’s Georgian Quarter. Flat 1 at 25a Falkner Square had a guide price of £130,000 and sold for £160,000.

Cathy Holt, Auction Manageress at Sutton Kersh said: ‘This was another excellent performance which builds on the success of previous auctions. There is also plenty of post sale activity so the final figure is likely to be even better.

‘We saw a large cross section of buyers, including investors and owner occupiers. There were also a number of new faces, and people from out of the area, who clearly see Liverpool as an attractive place to invest.’

The September results means that Sutton Kersh has now sold almost 450 properties in the year to date, generating cumulative proceeds of nearly £30,000,000.

Their next sale takes place on 17th October, for which the catalogue closes on 20th September.
