Choose your letting agent wisely urges Sutton Kersh

Sutton Kersh Lettings is urging landlords and tenants to only deal with agents who are members of the Association of Residential Letting Agents (ARLA).

With difficult borrowing conditions and the subdued economic climate still affecting the traditional residential sales market, the demand for rental properties is on the increase, as is the number of people looking to benefit from the boom.

Phil Lawton Director of Lettings at Sutton Kersh said: ‘Just as you would never consider using an unlicensed doctor or dentist, the same principle must apply to the lettings market. It is vital to check that your agent is ARLA registered.’

ARLA registered agents are bound by a set of strict industry standards which are aimed at giving security and peace of mind in equal measure.

This includes being covered by a Client Money Protection (CMP) scheme for tenancy deposits and rents.

Mr Lawton added: ‘By being members of ARLA we follow a strict code of practice and rules of conduct. We are also required to carry out continuous professional development to ensure we are always offering best possible advice and aware of the latest legislation.’

Sutton Kersh currently has a large number of tenants looking for rentable accommodation in Liverpool and is asking landlords to make contact as soon as possible on 0151 207 5923.
