Over £4 million raised at our February auction

Our February auction result was the best in Merseyside since September 2009. Over 60 properties sold generating receipts that totalled in excess of £4,280,000.

There was standing room only at the event which took place on the 16th February at the Marriott Hotel in Liverpool City Centre. Keen purchasers filled the room and bidding levels were the highest we have experienced for many years.

The final lot of the day was also the best selling lot of the day. Lot 97, a residential investment property located at 38 Bentley Road in L8 was guided at £125,000+ and sold for £173,000. The substantial three storey property plus basement, has been converted to provide 6 self contained flats (five one-bed and one two-bed) and is currently producing a gross annual rental income of £20,160.

Cathy Holt, auction manageress at Sutton Kersh commented “We are absolutely delighted with today's result. Pre auction activity was extremely high and so we were hopeful of a good sale, but to raise over £4,000,000 and sell over 45 properties in the room – that is a fantastic result for us. Even properties that didn't sell received bids and those that did had numerous under bidders which is a very positive sign for the market – it shows that people were there to buy. I am sure we will complete on some more sales post auction – watch this space.”
