Wavertree property is a hit at Sutton Kersh auction

A vacant Grade II listed six bedroom house in the Wavertree area of Liverpool was among the highlights of the latest Sutton Kersh property auction.

Offered at a guide price of £125,000 plus, Olive Mount Villas on Mill Lane was the subject of some fierce bidding, with the hammer finally coming down at £217,500.

Elsewhere, a vacant three bedroom lodge within the grounds of the Grade II* Allerton Hall was snapped up for £183,000. It had been offered on the instructions of Liverpool City Council at a guide of £150,000 plus.

Meanwhile a commercial investment in Birkenhead which is occupied by ‘Mr Bubbles’ hand car wash was also in demand, selling for £78,000, off a guide of £35,000 plus. In Prenton, a block of ten part-let garages producing annual income of £2,100 achieved £27,500, off a guide of just £5,000 plus.

In total Sutton Kersh sold 50 lots at the auction at the Liverpool Marriott Hotel, generating proceeds of over £3,500,000. Auction Manageress Cathy Holt said: “A real feature of the sale was the number of lots which attracted competitive bids and helped drive prices up.

“We are currently receiving numerous enquiries about available stock so I anticipate final proceeds to be closer to £4,000,000.”

Sutton Kersh is now inviting instructions for its final sale of the year which takes place on Thursday, 11 December. The catalogue closes on 14 November.
